Progressive MD

Dr. Samaan is a board certified Cardiologist who specializes in preventive cardiology.  He received his fellowship at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York City, and completed a combined residency at Case Western Medical Center and Rainbow Babies Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, where he trained in internal medicine and pediatrics. 

On a part time basis, he also works as the Health Informatics and Innovation Director at a Federally Qualified Health Center in Los Angeles, where he focuses on data mining strategies and utilizing innovative health technologies (such as remote blood pressure and glucose monitoring) to improve access to care to indigent patients.

Dr. Samaan has actively been involved in international health projects and has presented research in the Middle East, Latin America and South Africa. 

He also recently edited a book on nutrition titled: Dietary Fiber for the Prevention of Heart Disease:  Fiber’s Interaction Between Gut Micoflora, Sugar Metabolism, Weight Control and Cardiovascular Health. 

He also helped research a book while interning at the CDC (during medical school) titled: Can we Save the Brain? A public health question, which reviewed the current research on the environmental, behavioral, and lifestyle factors that contribute to increases in the risk for cognitive decline.
